Liposuction is a plastic surgery, in which deposits of excess fat cells are removed. It is a mistake to think that only obese people need it – often people with normal total weight have fat deposits, but these are fat deposits in problem areas. Why is the fat removal surgery worth it? Because other options often simply do not allow to cope with the problem. One can work out in the gym for 4 hours a day, strictly adhere to proper nutrition, but fat still remains in problem areas. The fact is that these are not just extra pounds, these are “fat traps” due to genetics. Even slender men and girls may have them in certain areas, usually legs/hips, stomach, arms, knees, back. Because of this, there are complexes, problems with self-esteem, and in some cases, even difficulties with building a career. However, a professional plastic surgeon will solve this problem once and for all in just one day.

Dr. Olexandr Chornomyz: Sculptor of Your Body

The clinic of Dr. Chornomyz is a balance between the traditions of plastic surgery and innovative technologies. We use only the classical method of surgical intervention, which has already been tested by thousands of surgeries. We have changed the lives of dozens of people who are now happy with their body and themselves.

In the clinic of Olexandr Chornomyz in Kyiv, only classical surgical liposuction is performed for different areas of the body and face:

  • hands;
  • abdomen;
  • hips and legs;
  • knees;
  • back;
  • chin.

Can you afford such a surgery? Yes, its cost is affordable. Plastic surgery is no longer a luxury available only to the rich and famous. Technologies are being developed enabling to reduce the cost of surgery, since getting rid of aesthetic defects is important for psychological and emotional health. The price is formed depending on the complexity and number of areas, on which the surgery will be performed.

Indications for Liposuction

The main indication is the presence of “fat traps,” compressed deposits of adipocyte cells. Usually they are localized in one of the areas of the body:

  1. legs (calves, legs, shins) and thighs;
  2. back (in the area of the shoulder blades, on the lower back with the transition to the waist and sides, in the area of the 7th cervical vertebra);
  3. knees (with sagging skin, the presence of wen and other defects);
  4. hands (in the area of the forearms and throughout the limb);
  5. abdomen;
  6. chin.

Fat deposits are often accompanied by sagging skin, its flabbiness, lack of tonus, the appearance of wen and other aesthetic flaws. The problem can manifest itself at different ages, even though as practice shows, men and women over 30 to 40 years old often face it.

Contraindications for Liposuction

  • period of pregnancy and lactation;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • oncology;
  • blood clotting disorders;
  • immunodeficiency of any nature;
  • age under 18 years.
  • during menstruation and within 5 days after it;
  • in case of infectious viral diseases – until recovery;
  • in case of disorder of the skin integrity (injuries, burns, rashes) in the area of the surgery – until complete healing;
  • in case of acute forms of chronic or autoimmune diseases – before their transition into a “sleeping” state.

If you suffer from diseases of the heart, kidneys, blood vessels or liver, everything is decided on an individual basis. The surgeon will consult with your doctor. If he/she approves, the surgery is carried out. In this case, tests and diagnostics and additional precautions may be required.

How is the Fat Removal Surgery Performed?

Of course, the plan for the fat removal surgery differs depending on the area that needs to be corrected – the actions of the surgeon when working on the chin and on the back cannot be the same. But still, a certain algorithm of actions during liposuction can be distinguished. It includes 6 steps:

  1. Initial consultation and preparation for the surgery. On this step, the surgeon will find out the extent of the problem, exclude all contraindications and draw up the surgery plan;
  2. Marking the area that needs correction. The surgeon draws lines with a marker, along which he will then be working;
  3. Anesthesia. It is carried out by an experienced anesthesiologist that will study the contraindications and select the optimal method of anesthesia (in most cases, local one);
  4. The surgery. The surgeon should gain access to the problem area – for this, 1-centimeter incisions are made on the skin (preferably, in natural folds or masked areas), in which special surgical tubes, cannulas, are inserted. Fat is removed via them using vacuum suction;
  5. Suturing. A special self-absorbable suture material is used, so the removal of sutures is not required;
  6. Postoperative rehabilitation. It takes place at home, in a mode that is comfortable for you.

In more detail on the features of each step, you will talk with your surgeon during the consultation. He will answer all questions so that you can forget about your fears and understand that it is safe and painless.

Features of Rehabilitation Care and Recovery

Although liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure, we recommend you to spend the first day in our inpatient clinic. Note that it is very comfortable and cozy, and you will be taken first-class care of. Within a few days, there may be a slight swelling in the procedure area, and bruises and haematomas may remain for a week. In the case of carrying out liposuction on the arms, legs, knees, abdomen, it is recommended to wear special compression underwear. There are also some restrictions on visiting the sauna, swimming pool or taking a hot bath. You can return to physical activity and your usual lifestyle in 1 to 3 days. More details about the recovery will be provided to you at the consultation.

If you follow all the recommendations of the surgeon and control your weight, the removed fat will never come again!
