Liposuction of the Knee Area: a Simple Solution to an Unsolvable Problem

Knee liposuction is one of the plastic surgery procedures aimed at removing fat. The fat usually accumulates with age (after 40 years, but difficult situations requiring surgical intervention may occur even in earlier years), because of a slowdown in metabolic processes and a decrease in physical activity. The difficulty is that in this area it is almost impossible to remove excess fat using active exercises in the gym or diet. These are the “fat traps” that begin to break down last, when there is practically no fat left in your body. However, aesthetically, the problem of holistic knees is quite serious. It does not allow you not only to wear a revealing dress or shorts, but it also shows up even through clothes! Therefore, it is necessary to resort to innovative methods to solve the problem. One of the most effective options is to have the fat removal surgery.

Indications for the Surgery

Making the surgery for removing fat from the knees is recommended in the following cases:

  1. the presence of significant fat deposits in the knee area (localized in the patellas and popliteal fossae);
  2. sagging of skin on the knees;
  3. the appearance of wen, other aesthetic flaws.

Advantages of Knee Liposuction as a Method for Restoring the Legs Beauty

At present, medical centers offer different methods of fat removal: laser, vibrational, radio frequency, vibrojet surgeries. However, the medical community recommends sticking to the traditional treatment – the surgical liposuction method. It has a number of advantages. Firstly, the proven technique is virtually risk-free. As side effects, there may be a slight swelling or hemorrhage (i.e., a bruise), but they disappear within the first week. Secondly, this method allows to remove large volumes of fat tissue. Thirdly, and most importantly, surgical liposuction is best predictable. That is, it can be initially simulated how your body will look like after the procedure.

Contraindications

Before the appointment of the surgery, the surgeon will definitely check you for the absence of contraindications. They include:

  • an acute form of infectious or autoimmune diseases – need to wait for recovery;
  • pregnancy and lactation;
  • oncology;
  • diabetes mellitus;
  • blood diseases associated with clotting disorders;
  • a number of diseases of the heart, kidneys and liver. In this case, consult with your doctor. If he gives a go-ahead, the surgery can be done.

If there are no contraindications, the surgery can be scheduled for a time convenient for you. It does not require long preparation.

How is Knee Liposuction Performed at the Clinic of Dr. Chornomyz?

In total, there are 8 main steps to get nice, symmetrical knees through surgery intervention and surgery:

  1. Initial consultation. It includes discussion of indications and contraindications, predictive results, postoperative care;
  2. Choosing the surgery date that is convenient for you
  3. Preparing for the surgery
  4. Marking. Applying marks to the area to be corrected during the surgery;
  5. Anesthesia. Liposuction is usually performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia;
  6. The surgery. The surgeon makes small (just one centimeter) incisions in the skin to gain access to the fat deposits and, using a vacuum pump and cannulas, removes the fat tissues. He tries to make incisions in natural folds on the skin to mask them as much as possible;
  7. Suturing. Surgical self-absorbable sutures are used that do not need to be removed;
  8. Postoperative rehabilitation. It takes place at home and it is not necessary to stay in the hospital.

The actual fat removal procedure lasts less than an hour, but it is often combined with other surgeries, such as liposuction of the legs and hips. This, of course, increases the time of the surgical intervention. Postoperative recovery usually lasts about a week.

Rehabilitation and Postoperative Care

Immediately after such a procedure, you can go home, but we recommend staying for a day in a cozy hospital at the plastic surgery clinic for observation. For the first two days, bed rest is recommended, and on the third day already physical activity is needed – a short walk, at least around the apartment. For the entire recovery period, it is necessary to limit visiting saunas, swimming pools, not to take hot baths and wear special compression underwear. But this is a small price to pay for the opportunity to show off perfect knees!
